(B). It was pointed out during the dr

year's purchase of the goodwill is the usual

amount paid for a personal business and that

three years' purchase is probably the maximum

amount paid for an impersonal business which changes hands in this Colojy

(C). In view of the conditions in this Colony, the

usual cost of the goodwill o., and the class of

public houses, the Board is of the opinion that

five yeara is an ample time to allow.

With reference to the second resolution the

Board suggests that the Colonial Treasurer be asked to ascertain

the facts to enable the Board to calculate the value of the

business of these housos during the year 1909 and that, with

this end in view, the principal items to be ascertained are:-

(a). The value of the liquors purchased.

(b). The gross receipts for the sale of same.

(c). The net profit.
