With reference to paragraph 4 of your Despatch

No. 81 of the 29th. Larch last, I have the honour to inform you

thet I see no prospect of being able to build a house for the Captain Superintendent of Police at present.

In the meantime I see no objection to the

continuance of the house allowance, provided the Captain

Superintendent of Police lives, as he does, within half-an-hour's

journey of the Central Station, and is connected therewith, as he

is, by telephone.
