Some time since I begged for your favour in
com.ending an application to the Government, in which I asked that
my name might be submitted to the Colonial Office for any vacancies for promotion which might arise in any Colony.
You were kind enough to accede to my request
in this matter; might I however in view of the fact that I have
heard nothing further of it beg that my name might again be brought to their notice for this purpose.
In my last aplication I asked for considera-
-tion for a moderately healthy Colony. I desire however to with-
-draw the reservation as to climate and shall be glad to accept
any post that the Secretary of State may be pleased to offer.
