magnified into two; further 2 had already been mentioned to me, and one is a criticism which has no value. There is only one of any real importance "No. 25", and that is wrong; no note was required "accounting for the disappearance of s. II*, there was merely a misprint of "10" for "11", and the section had not disappeared.

Of the 29 in Volume II, 8 are in the corrigen-

3 -da and 6 in the Index; one had already been mentioned to me,, are criticisms, none of which are of any value; the only real objection in the whole list is to the "slip" in the University Ordinance. With the "slip" on which No. 11 of 1905 is printed I have, as I have already explained, nothing to do.

The Attorney-General's list therefore as a serious list of errors disappears entirely. He has only pointed out some additional printer's errors, and a very little considera- -tion will I have no doubt lead you to the conclusion that they should have been pointed out in quite a different fashion, and in

quite a different spirit.

Printer's errors in references and short

titles are I agree objectionable, and I shall treat them in the same spirit that I have treated every other serious error I detected in the process of verification. I have given orders for the following pages to be reprinte

in Vol. I

in Vol.II

25/26, 293/294, 581/582, 743/744, 553/554. 231/232, 269/270, 277/278, 491/492, 695/696,

743/744, 963/964;

in addition the "Corrigenda and the Index in both Volumes will be reprinted, as it is of course necessary that these should be

accurate.

I enclose a memorandum on the "errors" which

are "criticisms". I have also received a memo. from the Treasurer

the pages which have to be reprinted owing to his remarks are

included in the above list.

Government.
