As the post of Principal Civil Medical Officer is
now vacant, I have the honour to request that His Excellency will be kind enough to recommend me for the vacant office.
1. I have been 28 years in the active practice of my profession 25 years of which has been spent here so I may claim to have some knowledge of the diseases prevalent, the needs of the Colony and the customs of the native population.
2. I have been 16 years connected with the Civil Hospital so that I am able to act as Consulting Medical Officer to the Government Hospitals an important part of the Principal Civil Medical Officer's duties and to take over charge of the
Victoria Hospital.
3. I have taken out a special course in Sanitary
Science and hold a diploma in Public Health.
4. I have been Acting Principal Civil Medical Officer
from 1900 to 1901, in 1908 and in 1909.

I have had 16 years service.
For the above reasons I most respectfully hope His Excellency will feel able to recommend my application.
