The depot being within the Harbour of Refuge

no Camber will be required. The Harbour Master and the Captain Superintendent of Police both concur in the proposed arrangements. In accordance with the terms of the concluding paragraph of the Colonial Secretary's letter to Mr. C. H. Ross of 28th. March, 1912, which formed enclosure 2 to my Despatch No. 124 of 1st. April the Government agreed to surrender within six months of the date of the payment in connection with the land exchanges a strip of about 60 feet in depth on that portion of the area which faces Canton Road. The surrender of this area will involve the

removal of the carpenters' shed and the shed for undesirables. The matter is, therefore, urgent.
