Proposed Site for Railway Terminus

I have the monour to acknowledge the receipt of

your letter No. 1 in 6981/07, dated lobu. March, 1912.

Un we.alf of the Wharf & Codom Company and the Land Reclamation Company I beg to accept the terms set forth therein subject however to the following amendments:-

Para. 2, II, B (ix).

This is an altogether new proposal which was not discussed in the negotiations which have taken place. In event of the transacion being completed by a transfer of lead, I beg to inform you that the Reclamation Company is not prepared to accept this additional area, even at $2,75 per square foot. On the other

hand if Government completes the transaction by a further cash

payment, as detailed in para_raph 6 of your above letter, the

straightening of Salisbury Road is a matter which will not then

concern us.

In view of what is above written, I would

point out that the balance stated in your letter as in favour of

the Reclamation Company on a "transfer of land basis" will require

amendment,

Para. 3.

The existing Pontoon when removed from the

present Ferry Pier to be handed over to the Wharf Company.

Para. 5. vii.

It is understood that "in a good state of

repair" means that the Wharf Company will maintain the Pier in as

good a state of repair as if it was not about to be relinquished.

Para. b. xii.

"Six months" instead of "three", it being

understood that the Wharf Company will hand over such portions

of the land as may be urgently required, within three months or

earlier
