Enclosure 2.
183
11942
RES15 APR 12
ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CHAMBERS,
Hongkong...15th.. March,....
.1912.
Report on Ordinance No..... of 1912.
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance entitled
"An Ordinance to amend the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance
1900.*
I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions,
It has been deemed desirable in the case of an offence
against The Arms and Ammunition Ordinance 1900 that the power of the
Magistrates to imprison should not be confined to cases where the offender is unable to pay a fine.
By virtue of section 11 (1) of the Penalties Amendment Ordinance 1911 (No.30 of 1911) the penalties may be inflicted alterna- tively or cumulatively.
