I propose that the Deputy Superintendent of

Police, on the presumption that he will usually be a married man,

shall reside in future at Kowloon and be relieved of his duties in

connection with the Fire Brigade. The quarters in the Water Police

Station would be available for him and he would be charged a

moderate rent.

6.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police will

reside in the Governent Quarters at the Central Police Station

and will be in charge of the Fire Brigade. The house there will be

converted into bachelor's quarters and the space thus saved will

provide quarters for a married Inspector of Police. As the Assist-

-ant Superintendent of Police will be required to live in these

quarters, so as to be close to his work, I do not propose to

charge him any rent.

7.

The arrangements set out in paragraphs 5 and

6 could be varied to suit circumstances. For example, if the

Deputy Superintendent of Police were unmarried he could chang

places with the Assistant Superintendent of Police.

را

I have the honour to be, Sir,

Your most obedient, humble servant,

Mugaros...

Governor,&c..
