RECE 8 MAR 12
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG. 13th. February, 1912.

Sir,
2. 315-881 34434 1
With reference to your Despatches No. 295 of the 6th. October, 1911, and No. 339 of the 18th. November, I have the honour to enquire whether it is your intention that nursing
stable?
?
sisters in the service of this Government should have the privileg-
2.
-es now accorded to officers under Colonial Secretary's Circular No. 83 of the 14th. of last December, of which I enclose a copy.
I refer the point for your decision because I understand that the Colonial Nursing Association is anxious for uniformity as to conditions of service in all Colonies and be- -cause change of climate and rest for a longer period are more necessary for women than for men. Pending your reply I have pro- -visionally accorded nursing sisters the privileges in question.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
Mangarh
