5th September 1911

sir,

With reference to the Colonial Secretary's letter of the 31st August 1991 received by me after I had written accepting the post of Assistant Crown Solicitor I should like to know whether a mistake has not been made as to the salary mention ed therein.

I was informed that my post was to come under the third Class and that I understood to be $400 to to £560 by £20 annually with Duty Pay of £100.

£

In the letter referred to above I am offered £420 rising to £540 by £40 triennially, the old scale, which from the 1st July 1911 has been abolished. I do not therefore understand the offer, moreover as mine is a billet declared to be eligible for Cadets to which the Scheme of Salaries dating from the 1st July 1991 particularly applies.

Iam Sir

Your Obedient Servant

(55α) Pane 17. Hoopor

J.H.Kemp Esq.

Crown Solicitor.
