In reply to your letter No. 104/E of 23rd. Decemb- -er, I am directed by His Excellency the Governor to inform you that the Attorney-General advises that the houses in question are rate- -able and that the Assessor of Rates has been instructed accordingly.

His Excellency is, however, referring to the Secretary of State for a ruling on the subject and should such ruling be contrary to the advice of the Attorney-General the rates on these houses will then be refunded.
