With reference to Sir C. Lucas" letter No.2134 of

the 7th March last, and previous correspondence

regarding the trude in morphia and cocaine in the

East, I am directed by the Secretary of State for

India in Council to enclose, for the information of

the Secretary of State jor the Colonies, a copy of a

letter from the Government of India regarding the

spread of the cocaine habit in Burma and other purts

of India, and a copy of a letter addressed to the

Foreign Office with reference thereto.
