Sir:-
With reference to the piracy of the vessel "Chit
On" belonging to the British firm of Messrs Hung and
Company I have the honour to inform Your Excellency
that I have on several occasions addressed Notes to the
Nanning Tactai requesting him to forward the depositions
of the criminals who have been arrested and to inform
me of his action in the matter. I have received no re-
ply to them. Although a considerable time has elapsed
nothing has been done. I have the honour to enclose tá
you copies of the three notes which I have addressed to
him, and to request you to be good enough to inform me
of whatever action has been taken.
