WITH reference to your letter of the 21st ultimo respecting the Indian uncertified
Foreign Office, August 14, 1511. opium in Hong Kong, am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to transmit to you, to be laid before the Marquess of Crewe, copy of the correspondence noted in the margin on this subject.*
I am to enquire what answer should, in Lord Crewe's opinion, be returned to the enquiry contained in the last paragraph of Sir J. Jordan's telegram No. 174 of the 11th instant.
