Foreign Office, June 21, 1911. I AM directed by Secretary Sir Edward Grey to inform you that a telegram has heen received from Sir J. Jordan, stating that Sheng-hsuan-huai, the President of the Board of Communications, is anxious to construct a section of the Hukuan Railway by contract, probably the American one, and that he desires the speedy return of Lord ffrench, the agent of Messrs. George Pauling, to Peking.
Sir J. Jordan has informed the local agent of the British and Chinese Corporation, and he suggests that Lord ffrench should consult the four groups through the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank.
A similar communication is being addressed to Lord ffrench.
