As you are aware from Mr Tower's last Despatch
abovo referred to, the Company formally reserved their
right to present a clain for the damage thay had incurred
against the Ms. Joan Governant, and they proceeded to en-
deavour to procure an adjustment of the case by means of a
friendly settlement, as it shown by the latter which they
addressed to President Disz on October 22nd 1908, copy of
which is en)cused,here...ith, as well as of the reply retur-
ned to this communication by Fenor Corral, Pinister of the
Interior, in which he invites the representative of the
Company to meet him in order to give to in certain expla-
ratione
The result of this interview was the presen-
tation of the case to the Ministry of Co munications ( my
enclosure hu 1) by whom it was transferred to the Ministry
of the Interior see Inclosure No 5.
No progrebb was, however, made in the matter, aJÉ
despite a renewed application by the Company to the Secre-
tury of the Interior on December 27th 1909 ( Inclosure No
SA ) and on April 28th of last year the Company addressed
a further reminder to the Ministry of Communications ( In-
closure No 6 ) cxplaining that they wished to a rive at a
