MY immediately preceding telegram.

Peking, May 11, 1911, 10:40 P.M.

In view of statement in your telegram No. 82 about large amount in cash required for duty purposes, I have sent following telegram to Government of Hong Kong

"To prevent misapprehension please notify merchants that uncertificated Indian opium, listed by customs and colonial authorities for China, and exported within prescribed limit of time, is entitled to bonding privileges at treaty ports, and need not pay 110 taels duty until moved from bond.

"Customs will provide necessary bonding accommodation."
