Convention the Chinese, whilst not being placed on the

same footing as white civilised races and Japanoɛe,

would be more favourably treated than hitherto.

Chinese born in the Dutch East Indias, who have

as yet been treated as Netherlands subjects everywhere,

will now be allowed to become Chinese subjects if they

migrate to China and inscribe themselves there as

opting for Chinese nationality within three weeks

of their arrival in the country.

As soon as the Convention and lotes are published
