Sir:-

I have the honour to transmit herewith copy of &

decision of the Court of Customs Appeals to the effect

that transhipment at Hong Kong does not vitiate direct

shipment from the Philippines to the United States for

the purpose of benefiting under the provisions of the

tariff act of 1909,

This decision should be of considerable interest as

confirming the present course of trade and the position

of Hong Kong as a distributing centre.
