PARIS,
March 13th, 1911.
sir.
with referance to your despatch No. 81 (8383/11) of
the 8th instant I have the honour to report that it has
been ascertained on enquiry at the Ministry of the golonies
that no special Committee has been appointed recently to
consider the affairs of French Colonies generally, though
a Committee is now studying cortain questions connected
with Colonial Customs.
The report mentioned in the extract from the "Hongkong
Tally Press" onclosed in your despatih under reply probably
refers to the proposed roorganisation of the "Conseil Sup-
érieur des Colonies", a permanent body which has boon 95-
tablished in Paris for some time. Information on the sub-
Jeat will be found on page 15 paragraph 53 of my Annual
Report for 1909 and on page 24 of the Report on the Esti-
mates for the Ministry of the Colonias, copies of which
were enclosed in my despatch Mo, 112 of the 10th instant.
I have the honour to be with creat truth and respect,
gir.
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
(52) Francis Bertic
The Right Honourable
