We beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter E./321/29 of 21st August covering correspondence with the Colonial Office and shall have pleasure in

acting in the manner proposed as Consulting Engineers

To prevent misunderstanding hereafter we think

it well to state now that our charges will be based on

time occupied by principals at the rate of £10.10. 0

per day of six hours and on time occupied by assistant

engineers, draughtsmen and clerks at rates varying

according to the grade of the men emploved, from £3. 3. O

cover general office and administration charges, but

we should require, in addition, to be recouped for any

expenditure to which we might be put for special assistance
