I have the honour to transmit a copy of a
letter which we have received from Dr. Hugh McKay
asking for payment of his pension from Hong Kong
funds as from the 1s. April 1897.
2. It appears from our pension register that
Mr. McKay, to whom we were authorised in your letter
of the 8th. October 1889 no. P.28/388 to issue a
pension of 234.13.0 ($166.33 48.2d.) per annum,
received payment from us up to the 31st. March 1897
since when, up to the present time, no claim for
payment of the pension appears to have been received
by us.
༣. In view of the length of time which has
elapsed since r. McKay last drew pension, I have to request that we may be informed what action the Secretary of State wishes us to take in the matter.
I have the honour to be,
