The Crown Agents for the Colonies in forwarding

the tenders for the steel and immwork for Kowloon Market

for my examination and report, have informed me that you

are in this country and have furnished me with your address.

I gather that you will not be visiting London at

present and I am the re fo re sending you under separate regis-

tered cover a print of one of the Contract Drawings, No.

1394, as well as your two original Colonial Drawings, from

which on comparison you will observe that in working out the

details of the cantilever brackets supporting the cornice

round a portion of the top of the building it has been found

desirable to build out these brackets from the main compound

roof girders, and also in that portion of the cornice on the

other side of the building where such for of connection is

not possible, it has been found desirable to introduce an

8" x 6" joist extending from the internal wall over the outer

wall, its projecting end forming the necessary support to the

comice at this point, this joist being'in addition to the

12" x 5" and 15" x 5" joists shewn on the Colonial drawing.

I would ask you to be good enough to return the drawings

now sent to you, with any comments thereon you may wish to make,
