matters which I an anxious to conclude before leaving,

Member of Council that it was probable that I might

me was a private one, and had not received His Majesty's
assent, and was in no way official or final.

The information has been kept strictly

enclosed letter addressed to you, and requested me to
forward it to you, with any remarks I might see fit to
make.
3.
As to the expressions of opinion regarding
myself, and the desire that I should remain here, which the signatories have been so good as to make, I have
no comment to offer, but upon their further request
