(overnor, Hongkong.

Canton, 9th. November, 1911.

This morning the Governor-General has taken

refuge in my house. As soon as possible he wishes to proceed to Hongkong. I do not consider it safe for him to go down in a torpedo boat. Will you extend your hospitality to him when I

can arrange for him to go dow.
