When an officer is on half-pay leave or a post is
vacant and the work of such officer or post is distributed among two or more members of the same Department, no definite acting appointment being made, no portion of the available half salary or salary as the case may be shall be given to members of the Department except in the
shape of overtime allowances, if overtime has to be worked in con-
-sequence of the officers's absence.
