finally agreed upon I shall address you fully on this subject.

A duplicate pumping engine is required at an estimated cost of

$20,000 for the Bonham Road Pumping Station, which supplies the

Peak District, but before it is installed the question of the

removal to another site of the station which is now in-

-conveniently near the University will be considered.

Instead of the total amounts actually

expended so far as accounts are complete I have had inserted

in colum 3 of these estimates the revised amounts expected to

be spent during the year, a course which seems to me to be

more useful for purposes of comparison.

11.

Apart from the working expenses of the

Fanling Branch and special expenditure to which reference has

already been made the estimates for the Railway show little

change. Interest charges have been transferred to their proper

place under "Charge on account of Public Debt". Sinking Fund

charges are higher, provision for the full year having to be

made. The nett result of next year's working is given in foot-

-note 2 on page 108 from which it will be seen that expenditure

on all accounts is estimated at 8751,030 and receipts at

8439,600, leaving a deficit to be met from Revenue of $311,450.
