finally agreed upon I shall address you fully on this subject.
A duplicate pumping engine is required at an estimated cost of
$20,000 for the Bonham Road Pumping Station, which supplies the
Peak District, but before it is installed the question of the
removal to another site of the station which is now in-
-conveniently near the University will be considered.
Instead of the total amounts actually
expended so far as accounts are complete I have had inserted
in colum 3 of these estimates the revised amounts expected to
be spent during the year, a course which seems to me to be
more useful for purposes of comparison.

Apart from the working expenses of the
Fanling Branch and special expenditure to which reference has
already been made the estimates for the Railway show little
change. Interest charges have been transferred to their proper
place under "Charge on account of Public Debt". Sinking Fund
charges are higher, provision for the full year having to be
made. The nett result of next year's working is given in foot-
-note 2 on page 108 from which it will be seen that expenditure
on all accounts is estimated at 8751,030 and receipts at
8439,600, leaving a deficit to be met from Revenue of $311,450.
