ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CHAMBERS,
Hongkong......14th. November, 1911.
Report on Ordinance No..
41
of 1911.
I have examined the accompanyiny Ordinance, entitled
"An Ordinance to amend the Arms and Ammunition
Ordinance, 1900."
`and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's
Instructions,
The definition of "Exempted person" in the Principal Ordi-
hance has been considered too wide. It was: **Exempted person' means
and includes any person in the Naval, Military, or Civil Services of
the Crown, and any officer of any Foreign Government, and any officer
or volunteer as defined by the Volunteer Ordinance, 1893, or by any Ordinance amending or substituted for the same, and any Justice of the Peace, special juror, members of the Legislative Council, or ether person exempted by Ordinance from serving on a jury on account of his avocation or profession and any member of the Police Force and any district watchman.
Sections 3 and 4 make removal permits necessary in the case of licensed persons.
C. G. Alabast
Attorney General.
