In confirmation of my telegram of the

4th. instant, I regret to inform you that Police Constable 86,

Alfred Ellicott, was admitted into the Government Civil Hospi-

-tal on the 17th. ultimo suffering from typhoid fever. The

disease ran the ordinary course until the morning of the 3rd.

instant when symptoms of perforation unexpectedly set in and the

patient died at 2.15 p.m. on that afternoon.
