In reply to your Despatch No.188 of the
30th. of last June, I have the honour to forward copies of the correspondence noted in the margin.

I take this opportunity of forwarding
also copy of a letter from Mr. F. Howell, dated the 11th. instant applying for permission to retire on pension and I shall be glad to learn what reply should be given to Mr. Howell.
3.
Apart from the subject matter of this Despatch there is no reason why Mr. Howell's retirement on
pension should not be approved.
