In reply to your confidential letter of the 30th. ultimo (No.1116/10) forwarding for the opinion of my Committee a copy of letter dated 19th. June, from His Excellency Vice-Admiral Sir Alfred Winsloe, I am directed to express my Committee's appreciation of His Excellency's conclusion express- -ed in the final paragraph of his letter, that the only satis- -factory way of settling the whole question is the erection of a Commercial Shore Station.

Until this be established, my Committee consider that His Excellency's suggestion contained in paragraph 5 of his letter should be adopted for the convenience of the public.
