An Ordinance to amend the Merchant Shipping
Amendment Ordinance, 1899, and certain Or- dinances amending the same.

2. Section 4 sub-section (2) of the Principal Ordinance Adds a new as amended by the Merchaut Shipping Amendment Or- proviso to dinances, 1905 and 1909, is hereby further amended by of Ordinance section 4 (2) the addition thereto of a further proviso as follows :--
"Provided also that any steam trawler or other fishing vessel propelled by mechanical power other than vars or sails regularly engaged in trawling upon the high seas from the Colony shall also be deemed to comply with the requirements of this sub-section if it is pro- vided with a duly certificated Trawling Master or a master possessing at least a River Trade certificate and an engineer possessing a certi- ficate of competency from the Harbour Master of Hongkong."

3. Section 28 of the Principal Ordinance is hereby Amenda amended by the deletion of the comma at the end of sub- section 26 of
