The Honourable

IC JUL 11
I have the honour to bring to your notice
that I joined the Railway as Chief Accountant in October, 1907, being appointed under an agreement through the Crown Agents on a salary of £400 per annum plus £60 House Allowance.
aware
The Railway was opened on the 1st. October, 1910, and from that date I have been in charge of both the Open
Line and Construction Accounts and the extra work entailed has frequently compelled me to work after office hours often till 7 p.m. in order to avoid arrears. I am esse/that provision has been made this year for the Accounting Officer and in the event of the post being continued, I trust my application for the permanent position of Chief Accountant may be favourably consider -red, as I have nearly four years' experience during which time I trust I have given aatisfaction.
I have etc.,
(sd.) J. Morris,
Chief Accountant.
