With reference to your letter of the 18th.
March, we are instructed to inform you that we have received instructions to address His lajesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies upon the question of compensation.
2.
We believe such communication should be made
through you and shall be glad if you will be good enough to inform us if we are correct in this and whether more than one
copy of the letter is required.
3.
We enclose you the claims in detail for compensation in respect of the front portions of the Lots. The sending in of these claims must not be taken as a waiver of any rights our clients are, or may claim to be, entitled to for compensation for back sections or for alteration of levels. Such further claims will either be sent in later or such other course will be adopted in respect of them as our clients are advised
and desire to take.

In view of the fact that we are addressing the Secretary of State for the Colonies no further reply to your
letter appears to be necessary.
