K.M.Lots 29 and 31 (portions of)

Alteration of levels.

We are instructed by the ormers of the

Sections and Subsections of the above Lots particulars of whose names and properties appear in the list underneath to address the Government in respect of certain alterations in the level of Reclamation Street which have been carried out by the Government in the past few years. Such alterations have had the effect of KEI seriously depreciating the value of our clients' properties xxx and have entailed a considerable loss of rental.

2.

So far as our knowledge is concerned we are aware of no right in the Government to make such alterations in level and the liability of the Government to compensate our clients for the depreciation and loss they have sustained thereby appears undoubted.

3.

The amounts claimed by our cleints in respect

of such alterations also appear in the list underneath and we shall be glad to receive a cheque therefore.

4.

We are acting in this matter in concert with Messrs. Wilkinson and Grist who act for the owners of all the houses in the list other than llos. 52/62 Reclamation Street and it has been arranged the claims of all the owners of the proper- -ties in the list should be presented by us and that the correspondence should also be conducted by us.

We have etc.,

(Sd.) Deacon, Looker and Deacon.

The Hon. Sir Henry Lay, K.O.M.C.,

Colonial Secretary.
