With reference to your request that the claim should be amended by limiting them to the injurious affecting referred to in your letter of the 12th. February last, we have to state that the claim as sent in was the claim in respect of such injurious affecting and therefore needed no amendment.
We note that you state that no further alterations in the levels of Reclamation Street will be made. In so far as it is a fact that in the course of carrying out the works, no further alterations in level will be made in the levels of any of the Streets surrounding these three lots as a whole, items 7 and 8 of our claim can be now eliminated but if during the progress of the works, it is found necessary to carry out any alteration of the levels prevailing at the commencement of the works, then such alteration will at once give rise to an increase in our claims. Subject to this our claim will stand as sent in with the exception of items 7 and 8.

We are causing a statement to Le prepared showing the particulars you require but the working out of the detailed areas will be a matter of some difficulty owing to dis- -crepancies in measurement. Our clients' Surveyors are, however, proceeding with it with all such speed as is possible.
