I have consulted with the Registrar, Supreme
in
Court, as directed and we do not advise that the case should be
re-opened, unless further evidence is discovered. From the
point of view of the public, however, it does not seem to us desirable that a Publie Servant should remain n the service when
the Chief Justice has said things about him in public such
things as the Chief Justice in his judgment said about Howell. I
believe on former occasions (e.g. I think Mr. Norton Kyshe)
public servants have been retired on full pension before their
time was up. Perhaps a similar procedure should be adopted in
Howell's case. I throw it out as a suggestion.
