Enclosure!
Sir,
I have the honour to forward for your
consideration draft of a Bill entitled "An Ordinance to amend
the Protection of Women and Girls Ordinance, 1897", and to
request your sanction to introduce it into the Legislative
Council.
2.
This Bill is based on the analogy of
Article I of the Diplomatic Convention drawn up by the Inter-
-national Conference for the Suppression of the White Slave
Traffic. I am dependent for my information on a publication in
(the "Mail" of 13th. May, 1910, (extract of which I enclose),
since no intimation regarding this Convention appears to have
been received in this Colony.
3.
I have the honour to enquire whether
the Imperial Government has initiated legislation applicable to
Enclosure 2.
