September last, I have the honour to inform you that the
Consul for Japan has now requested that an area round the
crematorium should be set apart as a garden and given to the
Japanese Community for the purpose of beautifying the sur-
-roundings of their cemetery. I enclose a plan on which is
shown coloured blue the area already sanctioned and the area
now desired margined red.

I see no objection to the proposal and
have accordingly to request your sanction to the lease of the
new area amounting to 30,000 square feet as against 21,700, on
the conditions approved in respect of the original grant.
