With reference to my Despatch No.
405 of the 29th. of last November, in which I forwarded a
copy of the Draft Companies Ordinance 1910, I have the
honour to inform you that this Bill was read a first time in
Legislative Council on the 13th. of last October and that it
was read a second time and referred to the Law Committee of
the Council on the 29th. of last December. Since then the
Bill has been exhaustively considered by the Law Committee
and on the 5th. instant the Attorney-Generál, as Chairman
of the Committee, reported to me that the whole Bill had
been dealt with clause by clause in the Committee and for-
-warded the enclosed copy of the Bill showing the amend-
-ments which it is recommended should be made by the Coun-
-cil.

It is not, however, possible to
bring the Bill before Legislative Council for final consider
-ation
