I have the honour to forward for
your consideration a petition from three Third Class
Inspectors of the Police Force together with a covering
minute by the Captain Superintendent of Police.
2.
For the pay of these officers and
of Sergeants and for particulars of opportunities which the
latter have of earning allowances I would refer to pages 46
and following of the Estimates for 1911.
3.
I have asked the acting Captain
Superintendent of Police whether, as a set off to the
additional expenditure involved, the number of Inspector-
-ships might be reduced and the number of Sergeants' posts
proportionately increased. Captain Lyons is however of
opinion that the existing number of Inspectors represents
minimum requirements.
