Be it enacted etc.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as "The Telegraph Or-
-dinance 1911".

2. The Governor-in-Council may grant from time to time, in his discretion and subject to any conditions he may think fit to impose, to any person, association or body corporate a licence to operate the whole or any part of any overland telegraphic or telephonic system, or cables auxiliary thereto, constructed or hereinafter to be constructed in the Colony or in colonial waters.
3. (1). On and after the commencement of this Ordinance
it shall not be lawful for any person, association or body corporate to operate the whole or any part of any overland tålegraphic or telephonic system, or cables auxiliary thereto, in the Colony or in colonial waters without a licence issued under this Ordinance.
(2). Any person, association or body ■■ corporate who acts in contravention to this section or who fails to comply with any condition of any licence issued under this Ordinance shall be liable on summary conviction before a Magistrate to a penalty not exceeding one thousand dollars and in the case of a second or sub- ****** -sequent conviction to a pealty not exceeding fifty dollars a day for every day during which the
default continues.
