The threo Executive Engineers to
whom I have referred above are all at present on a salary
of £600 which is higher than the proposed maximum of the
Second Grade or the initial salary of the First Grade.
I
propose therefore that Executive Engineers if already on a
salary of £600 shall be allowed to retain that salary
with the addition of a Duty Pay of £60, and if selected for
appointment to First Grade they will similarly receive
Duty Pay at £60 and remain on their present salary of £600
with the prospect of one further increment of £30 three
years after the date of promotion to First Grade.

existing dollar salaries of the Engineering Staff, their
equivalent in sterling at 3 shillings to the dollar and
