This resumption will enable a
considerable economy to be made in the area of the old
market which can be made available for the new building.
The latter will be two storeys in height and if these
houses had not been resumed a space between the back of
them and the market would have had to be left for light
and ventilation which will now be afforded by the street
on which this side of the market will front. The design
and estimate for the market have not yet been completed,
but it is anticipated that the prospective rentals from
the building will show a good return in interest on the
capital cost including the cost of the resumption.
