On the 6th. of last October the
Executive Council advised that the land in question should
be resumed for a public purpose, and in accordance with
Section 3 (1) of Ordinance No. 10 of 1900 the Director of
Public Works was authorized to enter into private negotia-
-tion with the owners of the land, who intimated on the
10th. November through Messrs. Palmer and Turner, their
Architects, that they were prepared to accept the follow-
-ing offer:-
