The corrections that have been made by me to the details furnished on the cards now returned have been done in red ink, and where the information is apparently inaccurate, or where the particulars furnished are not sufficient to enable me to arrive at the correct figures, a cross either in pencil or red ink has been made against the entry.

The ages at entry and at exit have been inserted by me in red ink underneath the "nearer age as at 31/12/08" the age

at entry to the left, the age at exit underneath the space,

・over

or the figure for the nearer age, if the latter required

^

correction.

In the case of the cards marked "" where cnparently the members still retain an interest in the Fund although

making no further contributions, I have added in red ink an

to indicate that they are still existing, and the age at exit has been modified by the addition of the number of years between

the cessation of the contributions and the 31st December 1908.

I would suggest that these figures introduced by me should all be left untouched (and checked) but that where any correction

inserted on the cards necessitates their alteration, a ner card

be prepared and sent with the amended particulars, while the

old ones should be kept and returned as well in order that I

may make the necessary corrections in my Schedules for the

mortality experience.

The cards contain no reference to the Schedules of

Widows etc., as required by Instructions 7 and 16 (original).

The item of nearer age (Instruction 8) has not been understood

and it might be pointed out that this is only required where

the member is existing on the Fund at that date. In some cases
