Sir F. Bertie to Sir Edward Grey.--(Received November 19.)
Paris, November 18, 1910. WITH reference to my telegram No. 102 of to-day's date, I have the honour to transmit herewith the copy of a note verbale received from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, stating that the French Government, in view of the modifications introduced into article 6 of the agreement between the British, French, German, and American groups relative to future Chinese loans, have no objection to the signature of the agreement by the French group.
The French Government, however, reserve to themselves the right of examining, from the point of view of national interests, any business which may be proposed to the groups.

L'AMBASSADE de Sa Majesté britannique a bien voulu demander, le lõ de ce mois, au Ministère des Affaires Etrangères, de lui faire savoir si le Gouvernement de la république était disposé à donner son approbation à la signature par le groupe français de l'accord entre les groupes financiers français, anglais, allemand, et américain, signé à Londres le 10 novembre, en vue de futurs emprunts chinois.
Se référant à sa note du 7 novembre relative aux conditions mises par le groupe français à la signature dudit accord, le Gouvernement de la république, en raison des modifications apportées à l'article 6 du projet de contrat, ne compte pas faire d'objection à la signature par le groupe français de l'entente à quatre.
Il se réserve, d'ailleurs, d'examiner à la lumière des intérêts nationaux chacune des affaires proposées aux groupes.
