THE Under-Secretary of State for India presents his compliments to the Under- Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and, by direction of the Earl of Crewe, forwards herewith, for the information of the Secretary of State, copy of a telegram from the Viceroy, dated the 9th November, relative to the Pien-ma expedition.

PLEASE refer to my telegram dated the 7th November respecting the expedition to Pien-na. Bumab Government have received telegram from His Majesty's consul at Tengyuch stating that, according to consul's information, the Yungching garrison expects to furnish a personal escort (which, however, would not, in consul's opinion, exceed fifty men) to Lung Ling.
