With reference to the informal meeting held at
the Colonial Office on July 26th last, I am directed
by Secretary Sir E. Grey to enclose herewith, and to
invite any observations upon it which the Secretary
of State for the Colonies may be disposed to offer,
the draft of a letter which Sir E. Grey proposes to
address to the China Association with reference to accress

the proposed Anglo-Japanese convention for the mutual
protection of trade-marks in China.
